Affiliate disclosure

The short version

TransitNation earns money through affiliate commissions. When you click a link on this site and go on to book a flight or a hotel with one of our partners, that company pays us a percentage of their own margin. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going to them directly. We never add a fee, a surcharge or a markup of any kind.

Who our partners are

We work primarily through the Travelpayouts partner network, which aggregates affiliate programmes for a large number of travel companies. Through it, and through direct arrangements, our outbound links may go to:

• Flight search and booking providers, and airlines directly
• Hotel and accommodation booking platforms, and properties directly

This list will grow as the site expands beyond Greece. Any link that can earn us a commission is treated identically to any other: it is included only if it is genuinely one of the better options for the search in question.

How links are marked

Outbound partner links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, as required by search-engine guidelines and by advertising standards in most of the markets we serve. Pages that contain affiliate links carry this disclosure in the footer.

What the commission does not buy

Commission rates vary slightly between partners. That variation has no effect on what you see, and specifically:

• Nobody can pay for placement. Results are ordered by price and relevance. If the cheapest option pays us nothing at all, it still appears first.
• Nobody can pay for a review. Destination write-ups and guides are editorial. No partner sees them before publication and no partner can request changes.
• Nobody can pay to be omitted. If a competitor is cheaper on a route, we show it.

What we are not

TransitNation is not a travel agency, a tour operator or a licensed seller of travel. We do not:

• Sell tickets, rooms or packages
• Take payments or hold funds on your behalf
• Hold, modify or cancel any reservation
• Issue refunds, vouchers or compensation

Every booking is a contract between you and the seller you were sent to, governed by that seller terms and conditions. Questions about an existing booking must go to that company.

About the prices shown

Fares and rates on this site are indicative. Airline pricing changes continuously, sometimes several times an hour, and availability can disappear between a search and a checkout. A price displayed here is never an offer and never binding. The only price that counts is the one on the seller own payment page. Please confirm it there before you pay.

Where sample or illustrative figures are used to demonstrate a page layout, they are labelled as such.

Editorial independence

Our incentive is repeat use, and repeat use requires being right. A reader who books a bad hotel on our recommendation does not come back, and a cancelled booking earns us nothing in any case. That alignment is the entire reason this model is workable, but you should still treat every recommendation on this site, or any site, as a starting point rather than an instruction.
